SEVIERVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) – All lanes are now back open on Dolly Parton Parkway after a sinkhole near the road shut down one eastbound right lane for a few hours Wednesday afternoon.
According to the Sevierville Police Department, the sinkhole opened Wednesday near Industry Drive. Officials said the depression was just off the roadway and was not large, but it prompted the temporary closure of the eastbound right lane while crews assessed and addressed the area.
The sinkhole occurred close to the Sevier County Volunteer Rescue Squad headquarters. Police urged drivers to use caution in the area as crews worked on scene.
WATE will continue to monitor and report any updates to local traffic advisories. For the full report, visit: https://www.wate.com/news/local-news/update-all-lanes-of-dolly-parton-parkway-reopened-after-sinkhole-closed-eastbound-lane/
